General Questions

What areas do you cover?

We provide furniture assembly services across the UK, with particularly strong coverage in Greater London, South East England, the Midlands, North West England, Yorkshire, and major cities in Scotland. We also cover most rural areas, except islands and Northern Ireland. The reaosn we do not cover these aras is simply down to the cost of getting there to meet, assess, train and monitor assemblers face to face. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, please contact us or enter your postcode in our quote form for confirmation.

What types of furniture do you assemble?

We assemble all types of flat pack furniture from any retailer or manufacturer designed for use in the home. There is an obvious overlap in commercial areas such as in store displays, offices etc. The list includes but is not limited to:

  • Wardrobes and storage systems
  • Beds and bedroom furniture
  • Living room furniture (sofas, TV units, bookcases)
  • Dining room furniture (tables, chairs, sideboards)
  • Home office furniture (desks, chairs, filing cabinets)
  • Children's furniture and nursery items
  • Kitchen units and bathroom furniture
  • Outdoor furniture

If you have a specific item not listed here, please contact us to confirm we can assist.

Do I need to have purchased my furniture from a specific retailer?

No, we assemble furniture from any retailer or manufacturer. Whether you've purchased from IKEA, Amazon, Wayfair, Argos, John Lewis, or any other supplier, we can help with the assembly. Our assemblers are experienced with furniture from all major retailers and many smaller ones too.

Are your assemblers qualified and insured?

Yes, all our assemblers are experienced professionals who have undergone thorough background checks. They are fully insured, and we carry public liability insurance for your peace of mind. Our team members are selected for their expertise in furniture assembly and customer service skills.

How quickly can you assemble my furniture?

How long is a peice of string? Assembly time varies depending on the complexity and quantity of furniture. As a general guide:

  • Simple items (basic beds, chests, chairs, tables, small bookcases, small wardrobes): < 1 hour
  • Medium complexity (storage beds, larger chests, most wardrobes): 1-3 hours
  • Complex items (wardrobes, large storage systems): 3-8 hours

When you request a quote, we'll provide an estimated timeframe based on your specific furniture items. Although we provide a fixed price, all our assmblers work at diffeent speeds, so giving a preise time is not possible.

Do you install fitted kitchens or fitted bedrooms?

No. We do not carry the tools or assess our assemblers for skills in these areas. The big difference is that fitted ebdrooms and fitted kicthens usually require cutting panels down to size. This means extra skills, insurance, tools and equipment.

We will assemble complicated large wardrobe systems and are very good at it, attaching them to the wall as reuired. However fitted bedrooms are very different.

Pricing & Payment

How do you determine the price for assembly?

Our pricing is based on the complexity and time required for assembly, the retail price of the furniture has little or no bearing on this. We consider factors such as:

  • The type and size of furniture
  • Assembly style and supplier
  • Number of components expected
  • Any special requirements (e.g., wall mounting)
  • Your location (for call-out fees)

We have been doing this for over 20 years, and have a database of over 30,000 items from over 700 suppliers, so we have a pretty good idea what we need to do. This means our prices are fair and accurately reflect what we need to do.

We provide fixed prices per item, so you know exactly what you'll pay before we start. For detailed pricing information, please visit our Prices page.

Do you charge by the hour?

No, we charge a fixed price per item rather than an hourly rate. This means you know exactly what you'll pay before we start, and you won't be charged extra if assembly takes longer than expected. We believe this is the fairest and most transparent pricing model for our customers.

Is there a minimum order value?

Yes, our minimum order value is between £65=£100 depending on wher you are. This ensures we can provide the highest quality service for every job. If you have multiple small items that individually would fall below this threshold, we can combine them into one job to meet the minimum order value.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept various payment methods for your convenience:

  • Cash
  • Bank Transfer

Payment is due upon completion of the assembly service.

Do you offer any discounts?

No, this is a labour intensive service. The time we can earn money is limited by the number of hours in the week.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking a week or so in advance to secure your preferred date and time. This is because our diary sually fills up 7-10 days ahead. However, we understand that furniture deliveries don't always arrive as scheduled, so we do our best to accommodate last-minute bookings when possible. Weekend appointments are reserved for postponed appointments or re-visits because of damaged goods on arrival etc.

Do you offer same-day service?

No. Our aim is to fill our assembelrs’ diaries with work every week, so it is rare anyone would be available.

What are your working hours?

Our standard working hours are:

  • Monday to Friday: 8am - 6pm
  • Saturday: ad hoc
  • Sunday: ad hoc

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

  • Cancellation after 5pm the day before and before midnight: Minimum Charge (£65-£100)
  • Cancellation on the day: We reserve the right to charge the full amount.

To cancel or reschedule, please email as soon as possible, so we can try to fill the slow. Please only use email as we can automatically notify the ssembler.

It is not our intention to make money when jobs do not go ahead, but equally if time has been booked in our diary, we cannot sell that time to anyone else whilst it is. If you leave cancallation until the last minute we cannot sell that time again.

Service Details

Do I need to be present during assembly?

You or another responsible adult must be present at the start of the service to provide access to your property and confirm the assembly requirements. For smaller jobs that will take less than 2 hours, we request that someone remains present throughout. For longer jobs, you can leave once the work is underway and return for the completion, provided we have a way to secure your property when we leave.

Please note: We cannot be left alone with under-age children and work in your home. This is a simple child protection issue. Should this situation arise we will abort the job and charge in full.

What do I need to prepare before your arrival?

To ensure efficient assembly, please:

  • Ensure all furniture packages are in the room where they will be assembled*
  • Clear adequate space for assembly and the finished furniture
  • Check that all packages have been delivered and are unopened
  • Inform us of any access issues (stairs, narrow doorways, etc.)
  • Ensure there is parking available nearby

* We appreciate furniture is heavy and delivery companies have limited time for each delivery. If you cannot get boxes into the right rooms we can do this for a small fee. Details are listed in your Booking Confirmation, however we waive any fee for 3 or fewer boxes.

What if parts are missing from my furniture?

Our assemblers carry many suitable spare fittings but not all.

  1. We'll provide a detailed list of the missing parts
  2. We'll advise you on contacting the retailer for replacements
  3. We can schedule a return visit once you have the missing parts

If we've already begun assembly when missing parts are discovered, we wil asses the sitaution as to ow to proceed. It is likely the job will be split and a small fee added to the remainder of the job for any return visit.

Do you dispose of packaging materials?

No. The Waste Disposal Act 2006 introduced strict criteria affecting commercia waste, and made this prohibitively expensive to do lawfully. This is now governed by The Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011. This legislation is the primary cause of fly tipping in the UK, as it has made disposing of waste far too difficult.

If you dispose of waste yourself it remains domestic waste and you can use your council fascilities free of charge. Any professional taking waste away from your property must hold the relevant licence, issue receipts, maintain records, sort and track your waste, and pay for it's disposal. Polystyrene and polythene are common in furniture packaging and very expensive to dispose of.

Can you assemble furniture that doesn't come with instructions?

Yes, our experienced assemblers are familiar with most furniture construction methods and can often assemble items even without instructions. If instructions are available online, we can also access those. However, assembly without instructions may take longer and there's a slightly higher risk of errors, so we always recommend having the instructions available if possible.

Generally it is good practice to read the instructions as they often contain important information. For popular items and suppliers our assembelrs will have read them on previous jobs.

Can you wall-mount furniture?

Yes, we can wall-mount furniture such as bookcases, TV units, and wardrobes that require securing to the wall. Our assemblers carry standard fixings suitable for solid walls and plasterboard. If your walls are made of a different material (e.g., concrete, stone, engineering brick, thermalite), please let us know in advance so we can bring appropriate fixings. Wall mounting is included in the assembly price for some items that require it for stability, and available as an additional service for other items.

After Assembly

Do you offer any guarantees?

Yes, all our assembly work comes with a 12-month guarantee. If any issues arise due to our assembly work within this period, we'll fix it free of charge. This guarantee covers problems with the assembly itself, such as loose fixings or incorrectly assembled parts. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, or natural wear and tear.

What if I'm not satisfied with the assembly?

Customer satisfaction is our top priority. If you're not completely satisfied with any aspect of our service:

  1. Please inform the assembler before they leave so they can address the issue immediately
  2. If you notice an issue after the assembler has left, contact us within 48 hours
  3. We'll arrange for an assembler to return and rectify the issue at no additional cost

We're committed to ensuring you're completely happy with our work.
